FISH Food Pantry

Congregational Church of Chatsworth

SERVICE PLANNING AREA:
SPA 2: San Fernando Valley

FISH has been providing food and a helping hand to low income, homeless and stranded travelers in the West Valley since 1971 when it was founded by Louise Curinga, a member of the Congregational Church of Chatsworth. The food pantry has been located in the kitchen of the church at 20440 Lassen Street since it was established. FISH is a member of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and is licensed by the Los Angeles County Health Department with an "A" rating. FISH also has a contract to receive excess food from the Los Angeles Unified School District. The food pantry is staffed by dedicated volunteers from all faiths and supported by a coalition of churches and community organizations. We receive no government aid. We have no paid employees. We are a community service site for local schools and colleges. We welcome volunteers.
